Child's Play

It is nearing the Holidays and I wan to take some time to talk about Child's Play. Not the scary movie but the charity. In 2003 the founders of Penny Arcades started this charity to help sick kids by giving them toys and games. Over it life time it donated over $12 millions. They also give no less then 94% of their donations to the sick kids. They have two big ways of raising money one is their auction diner this year it is in December at Bellvue, WA here people donate their gaming items and the auction money get donated, and last year they made $350,000 in a single night. The other way they get a lot of money is the Humble bundle. This is a pack of indie games where you pick your price and how much goes to the Developers, the charity, or to the humble bundle. They often have one out and it is a great way to give back and try out some lesser known games. They do not have just games they have had music and books too.

Headset

So there are many headsets out there for people to buy. The market is so big and with prices from $30 to $300 it can be tough to tell which you should buy so I am hear to help. I am now using Turtle Beach x12 but here we are going to talk about the x11s. They are the best selling gaming head set ever. I remember when I first got mine the sound we clear and in my ears. I loved having the sound not coming out of m TV. I highly suggest these to anyone who wants a first headset. I used these for about 2 years than the sound started to blow out so i gave that to a friend and bought my x12s. He loves them also and after a few weeks all ready thinking of getting his own. You can get one for $40 and it is well worth the money. Here comes the super affordable Turtle Beach X12 photo

Talking deeply about to the moon Pt. 1

I want to talk about and give my view on To the Moon story. I will spoil the story rely badly so you have been warned.I will go reverse of how you play John's life or start when he was the youngest hopefully explaining all the hidden things later on many people miss the first time.  So the most important memory is one of the two John cannot remember it is the first time he and River meet, please note that River has short hair here. In the meeting John and River show how John wants to be different and stand out but River wants ti fit in. This is also when they see the moon they River finds a rabbit out of the starts as the moon for it's stomach, River asks John to describe it to her prompting him by saying "What else?" River says "I've never told anyone, but I've always thought they were lighthouses" and that she wants to befriend one. John than give River the Platypus and hacky sack. Then John needs to leave so if they forget to go there they agree to meet on the moon. This is the reason John wants to go to the moon. When the Doctors ask him he says he does not know but he just cannot remember that meeting because his brother gets hit by a car and his mom gives him Beta blocks to forget him but she does not take them her self. So John wants to go to the moon because deep down he thinks that he will find River there. Anther important scene is when John tells River why he first asked her out, at school. The scene is John's friend Nicolas is pushing John to ask out River. Before this though John and Nick talk about why John liked her he talks a lot about how she is Unique and different like how he wants to be. John not remembering that they meet before says "I know what I need and she's the one who has it." and Nick says" So you want her for what she has but not for her ... That's cold man" So Nick sees that John wants her because he sees River as a quiet antisocial girl who does not know how to fight back, John befriends River and she would go heads over heels for him. This "tainting" their first meeting and when River fully realizes that John does not remember. Nick and Isabelle notice that Rivers condition is worsening and suspect it has something o do with John not having pure love for her. That is why I think he told her and that she is getting worse because that River is slowly learning that John does not remember their first meeting. After this River asks John to throw the Hackysack at the light house, the one from their first meeting in hopes he will remember but when he does she chases after it wanting it back. This leads to why River takes such good care of all the other items from the past. I will talk more about this later but this might be my last post for a while I will still be on twitter check my out at @supergamecake and on piterest http://pinterest.com/supergamecake/

Turtle Beach Dx12s

The next headset I want to talk about is the Turtle Beach's Dx12s. I got these about a month ago after using my x11s and I instantly heard the difference. These are the updated x12 with the DDX2 mixer. This gives you doubly digital surround sound and a better sound. You can also plug an ipod or mp3 player right in too it instead of playing it through the xbox. All the sounds have an independent volume control and a master one so it takes a while to find what works best for you but they are a great buy for about $130. If you have the older xbox box like me though you will need a sound adapter to use the optimal cable and sometimes it will cut out half way through play. Leave comments on what else you guys want to see me review. Also find me on google+ here.

To The Moon

Ok so I hope many of you reading this did the homework and played To The Moon. To start if you have not you are missing out it has been out for nearly 2 years but was released on steam recently. To see the something this game is really good and is a step in the right direction. From the beginning you will realize that Laura Shigihara knocked out of the park with every song in the game but by far the best is this one here. When her voice comes out being the only one and the background of what was going on it is really moving. Only at some points the music feels overdone. So the story starts off with a crash and the two main characters walk out of the car. They are to fulfill the die wish of a man on his deathbed. This takes place in the near future when technology exits to recreate memories for the person but the die shortly after. The patient Johny has one wish the Moon. The two must now relive his memories and see what happened in his life that would make him want to go to the moon. Even through there is little game play compared to most by find the links and mementos really push the game and lets you to really feel what was important to Johny at the time. This it for now I will go more into the story so go play it.

Golden Classics: Earthbound

Here I want to talk about old games they everyone should play, not promising they are good but worth playing. First is one of my personal favorites Earthbound, or mother 2. I was in the 5th grade when i stared playing it and 6 years later it remains as one of my favorites.I stumbled upon this when my dad got it as a ROM for a SNES emulator he got on our computer. After playing it on and off for a year, over 5 days I made it from Threed to the last boss and beat the game, got caught up on the blonde woman in front of the hotel. When I beat the game I sat staring at the screen shocked that it ended I didn't understand what happened but recently i stared to replay it and read on what the game was about. For those who don't know Earthbound, too many, is a gaming about growing up. A child goes through this long journey and when he returns nothing changed but Ness. Ness sees evil, fights it, and see it with in himself. I do not doing the Anylisys justice here is a link to a video going to to depth on the meaning behind Earthbound. Homework for my next post play To The Moon I want to go indepth and I will spoile most of the plot.
